Wagering requirements: the number that decides how long you will play
A wagering requirement (turnover, playthrough) states how many times an amount must be staked before a bonus and its winnings become withdrawable. It is written as a multiplier — 20x, 35x, 40x — and applied to the bonus, to bonus plus deposit, or to free-spin winnings. The multipliers on Sly's offers are in the rules of each promotion; we don't quote them because they change.
Most sites explain wagering as maths. Here we look at it as something else: a playing plan that someone else has written for you.
Promotion rules at SlyThe formula in plain words
Turnover = the amount the condition applies to × the multiplier. Hypothetically: a €30 bonus at 40x on the bonus means €1,200 of stakes. If the condition applies to the bonus plus a €30 deposit, the figure becomes €2,400. The difference between the two versions is twice as much play for the same offer — so the first thing to find in the terms is what the multiplier is applied to.

Maximum bet and excluded games
While a bonus is active there is almost always a ceiling on a single stake. It exists so the turnover can't be cleared with a few huge bets. Exceeding it, even once and by accident, is the most common reason an operator voids winnings. The same goes for games excluded from the offer — spins on them can be treated as a breach. Read both lists before you begin.
When turnover meets your money stop
Here is the situation this page exists for. Your money limit for the evening is €40. You've lost it, but there is still bonus balance in the account and the turnover is half done. Everything on screen says "keep going — you're nearly there". This is where a decision taken and written down in advance helps: if I reach my money limit before completing the turnover, the bonus goes. Not "I'll carry on tomorrow with a bit more", not "just ten more spins". The same applies to time. If the turnover has a deadline of a few days and you play two evenings a week, the condition probably can't be met without changing your schedule. Then the more honest choice is not to take the bonus at all.
